LATEST NEWS: BoveyTracey & Exeter City coming to Town / Barry Town set the standard / Updated Friendly fixture list / Buxy & Gazza back at Elmore / First Team welcome Thresher / New Commercial Manager Appointed / City coming to Elmore

BOVEY TRACEY AND EXETER CITY UP NEXT...

The season is getting very close now and the next two home friendly fixtures should both prove a good test for the Eagles. Bovey Tracey are coming to Horsdon Park on Wednesday night, kick off 7:30pm & then Elmore will once again hosting a professional outfit when Exeter City come to town this coming Saturday, 3:00pm kick off. Come and see the impressive style that Elmore are currently playing with in our remaining friendly fixtures.

EAGLES NOT THAT FAR AWAY...

Barry Town arrived to Elmore very early and very well prepared. Looking like a very professional outfit with a fantastic set of fans too, it was Barry Town who started the brighter when pouncing on a defensive mistake to take the lead in the 4th minute. However, even up against a very good passing team, the new look Eagles side stuck to the principle of playign the game the right way and refused to just sit deep and defend. With a few chances being missed for both teams it was Barry Town who once again scored with a deflected shot from 30 yards. A change of formation saw Elmore come out 4-5-1 in the second half. For the majority of the second half the Eagles looked to be holding their own and edged it at times too. With several chances not being taken by the men in green, it was unfortunate to see a last minute mix up cost the lads another goal. The final score was 3-0 Barry Town, after the match, first team managers Ryan German and Pete Buckingham both expressed their delight in the way the young Elmore players never just defended but expressed themselves very well on the ball too. Next up is Bovey Tracey at home on Wednesday night, 7:30pm Kick Off.

NEW FRIENDIES - LIVERTON AND CHUMLEIGH...

Liverton and Chumleigh are the latest additions to the Eagles pre season friendly list. Liverton replace Barnstaple and chumleigh are added in a mid week game. Noth games are away and it now means the Eagles first match will be this coming Saturday (Sat 14th July) at Liverton, 3.30pm K.O. There is also a possibility of one more friendly which will be announced along with the start of the signings on Tuesday night. The season fixtures are also now out and can be seen on the first team fixtures page.

BUXY & GAZZA JOINS MANAGEMENT TEAM...

In a week that for many clubs provides news after news, it's no different for the Eagles as shortly after Mat Thresher joined the first team management, Pete Buckingham and Simon Harder have both joined as well. Pete, after only joining Barnstaple Town recently, decided the opportunity to come back to Elmore proved to great to turn down. Ryan spoke to the website about the good news of getting Buxy and Gazza (Simon Harder) on to the management team, "I sat down with the chairman and told him I was thinking about asking Buxy to join me at Elmore and we both instantly agreed it would be the best thing to do. After meeting Buxy and going through a few things, it was clear that we both shared the same views and both want the same outcomes for the Club. We discussed many things but the most important for both of us and for the Chairman to see, was that the ambition to do well is as clear as day. We now have to act very fast in signing on the right players who prove themselves in pre season. I would also like to thank Gazza for committing to us for the following season too. Gazza was straight with me and explained he has work commitments every other Saturday but will be there when he can. With a four man management team sorted at last, the pieces are starting to come together and we're expecting to sign players on this week." To keep up to date with the signings and any other information about the Club please keep visiting our very popular website.

NEW PHYSIO APPOINTED...

The latest addition to the First Team Management is the newly appointed Mat Thresher. Mat has joined us as Physio, from Minehead Town FC, where he spent the last 3 seasons. He holds the relevant qualification in pitchside aid required for the Toolstation League and is currently progressing through the FA treatment and management of injuries pathway. After brief conversation, Mat has expressed how he is really looking forward and excited about the opportunity to work with the club but at the same time also thanked Minehead for their loyalty and commitment shown towards him and for the understanding they've shown during this switch. The Eagles welcome Mat on board.

CHANT ACCEPTS COMMERCIAL POSITION...

The Club is delighted to announce that Phil Chant is now the new Commercial Manager of Elmore FC. Speaking about the appointment, Jed Hewitt, the Football Chairman had the following to say. "Phil is a massive addition to the Club. Although many people only see what players and coaches are coming in to try and better the club, there is also many faces coming in off the field. Phil has got previous experience as Commercial Manager at Reading FC and his expertise in this field will be crucial to the club progressing in the manner we want too. To me this position is as important, if not more important, than any other position in the Club. We welcome Phil on board and I would also like to thank Wendy Humphreys for accepting the role of Website Editor which once again is a great boost with Wendy having many years of experience running Twyford Spartans website which has always been a very good website. Overall I am happy with the new faces who have committed to us and I am also looking forward to potentially adding a few more new faces off the field which will be topped off very shortly with some new floodlights, fingers crossed!!!" A small reminder to all players out there who are thinking about coming to pre season, it starts on Tuesday 3rd July, 7pm meet at Elmore.
