GOALKEEPER COACH AND PHYSIO POSITION...

The Eagles First Team are looking for a new GK Coach and a new Physio to add to their current management team for the coming season. If you have previous experience or your currently training towards becoming any of the above and you would like to work alongside a very committed and youthful squad/management team then please get in touch with Jed Hewitt on: 07860604472. The Club are also seeking more help on match days and off the field support. If you are interested in becoming part of the Club committee and want to help the club go forward then please get in touch with the Football Chairman, Jed Hewitt, on the number above. For Elmore to reach its potential (which is there for all to see) the club needs your help and a bigger off the field team to support the overall running of the club. More news about next season will be posted as soon as possible.

GERMAN HAPPY WITH TEAM SPIRIT AND MORALE...

Saturday saw the Eagles first team hold out for a draw against a very organised Melksham team who have got promoted to the Western Premier Division. It was Melksham who enjoyed the majority of the first half with Elmore set up as a 5-3-2 which saw the Melksham team show frustration and a lack of ideas when they continued to fail to break down a very determined young Elmore team. It was a counter attack which gave the lads a 1-0 lead when clever play from Lee Smyth and Mike Humphreys set up Sam Kemp who went through 1 on 1 with the Melksham keeper which resulted in a calm chip over the keeper. It was then once again back to the tactics which saw them frustrate the promoted side but unfortunately with just 3 minutes left on the clock before half time, it was Melksham who struck back with a soft goal to concede. A different half saw a different approach with a 4-4-2 from the team in green and it had an immediate impact when Elmore come out and reversed the possesion and territory for the first 25 minutes of the half. Once again through brilliant pressure and quality play it was Sam Kemp who went past his marker, slid the ball across the face of goal which gave the on form Lee Smyth his fourth goal in four games. Unfortunately Kai Fisher got a straight red just minutes after taking the lead which saw a change of formation and a repeat of the first 20 minutes of the match, with the Eagles organised and behind the ball. Melksham however showed their quality and why they have got promoted when playing a neat one two on the edge of the box which saw them get their equaliser on the 75th minute. It was then corner after corner, attack after attack but credit goes to all the lads for holding on, especially the young Robbie Powell who made his league debut between the sticks and showed his confidence when coming to punch the corners and free kicks in the last 15 minutes. Congratulations must go to Melksham for gaining promotion and the club would like to wish them all the best for next season. The Eagles game against Shrewton was called off and the re-arranged date will be announced shortly.

HOME GAMES SATURDAY AND SUNDAY FOR THE FIRST TEAM...

The first team have produced a fine run of form that has seen them lose just once in the last four games during a spell against all top 8 clubs. With a point at Welton on Saturday, their biggest test is up next on Saturday when Melksham (2nd place in the league) are visiting Horsdon Park. The Eagles then have less than a 24 hour rest period as they are at home on Sunday aswell to Shrewton which will bring the season to an end. So a double header is what we have got to look forward to, both games being a 3pm kick off.

ABBA TRIBUTE NIGHT LOOKING LIKE A PACKED HOUSE...

If you have plans to attend the Abba Tribute night on Saturday 19th May at Elmore FC then the Club would like to give you notice that the tickets are selling at a very quick pace and we urge anyone who hasn't got their tickets yet to either get in touch with Jed Hewitt, pop in JT's Party House or visit the Tiverton Tourist Information Shop. Don't miss out on what will surely be a brilliant night. The Tribute Night is from 8pm-1am and follows directly after the Clubs presentation which is also open to Elmore members and fans as well as the players and players family members. Once again if you would like to book a seat at the presentation evening which also includes a sit down meal then please ring Jed Hewitt on 07860604472.

CADBURY HEATH ON WEDNESDAY...

Next up for the first team is top of the table Cadbury Heath. This Wednesday night sees the Eagles looking to get revenge on Cadbury after losing at Cadbury to 81st and 94th minute goals just two weeks ago. Kick off is at 7.30pm, come along and support the Eagles in what will be a very good game.
